June is one of the best months to have an Intimate Oregon Coast Wedding. Megan and Kage knew this too; that’s why they packed their bags and flew from Missouri to the Oregon Coast to get married! I had the absolute honor of documenting their special Micro Wedding near Cannon Beach. After Megan found me on Tiktok, we instantly clicked and began our journey of planning their Oregon Wedding together! Through phone calls and questionnaires, we crafted a perfect wedding day timeline that was aligned with their values and vision. Remember your Destination Wedding can be whatever you dream of!
Megan and Kage didn’t opt for the traditional wedding route; they craved an experience that reflected their values and style. They booked a cozy Airbnb in Rockaway Beach, surrounded by the mountainous beauty of the Oregon Coast. Imagine the quiet sounds of a beachfront town flowing through the windows and a sense of anticipation filling the air. That’s what their wedding morning felt like.
Before the ceremony, the couple embarked on a little adventure. Fueling up on excitement and caffeine, they visited R&R Espresso in Rockaway Beach, where the barista, in true cafe fashion, adorned their coffees with a sweet touch – “Mr. and Mrs.” Their response? I love you latte.
Their ceremony took place in the serene Arch Cape, just 30 minutes north of Rockaway Beach on the Oregon Coast Scenic Highway. With 13 cherished friends as witnesses, my husband, Keaton, officiated their heartfelt vows, adding a personal touch to their special day. As an Oregon Wedding Photographer, my goal is to document their wedding in a way that reflects their relationship. I focused on photographing their family’s reactions and the quiet moments with Megan and Kage only.
The celebrations didn’t stop at “I do.” Our next stop was Fultano’s Pizza, just a 20-minute drive north. Honestly, who needs a fancy five-course meal when you can devour delicious pizza and bowl with your closest friends and family?
No Oregon Coast wedding is complete without a little adventure, so we headed to Seaside Beach for their bride and groom portraits. Running down the coast, dancing and laughing together, and the warm glow of the setting sun – it was the perfect end to their sweet day.
If you’re dreaming of getting married on the Oregon Coast with your person, here are three tips for planning your own Oregon Coast Wedding from an Oregon Wedding Photographer:
For a small wedding in Oregon, there are many hidden gems like Arch Cape or secluded spots in Cannon Beach. You can lean into the beautiful scenery as your ceremony backdrop. Don’t be afraid to think outside of traditional Oregon Wedding Venues. View these Oregon Engagement Photos at Hug Point to spark some ideas in you! Don’t forget that some locations may require photography permits for weddings on the Oregon Coast. I’m here to find any answers you need when it comes to permits or location access info.
Planning a Destination Wedding is so exciting, but it involves some logistics! Make sure you and your loved ones have comfortable accommodations. In addition to being a Destination Wedding Photographer, I’m an Airbnb host too! If you need an Airbnb to stay at for your Destination Wedding, feel free to ask me for help. You should also think about creating a travel itinerary. Are there any special locations or monuments you want to explore? You can plan a day to adventure, or we can work it into your wedding day timeline. The choice is yours!
