Madison & Garrett had their small wedding at a Texas wine room in May… I mean, come on! This is surreal! Madison reached out to me back in April wanting to have their special day photographed by someone who was creative and willing to help with planning. We quickly dove into sharing our ideas with each other. Their wedding day came quicker than I thought it would!
I met Madison first thing at Sonder Salon in Tyler, Texas to start the getting ready process! Braylee with Braylee Renee Hair at Sonder Salon had just finished her gorgeous, bohemian wedding hairstyle when I arrived. The baby’s breath was the perfect touch! As Cheyenne with Chey Cosmetics wrapped up her finishing touches for Madison’s Makeup, I snapped a few photos of the process and all of the bride’s special details!
I love to grab detail photos as soon as I arrive to any wedding; special keepsakes like the bride’s dress, both the engagement ring and bands, the bride’s bouquet, shoes, and more are so important to preserve on this intimate day! As a married woman, I know how quickly a wedding day can fly by for the couple! That’s why I strive to capture all of the little details, so you never forget exactly how the day went!✨
Since Madison & Garrett chose to have a non-traditional wedding, my creative juices were pumping throughout the entire day. After Madison’s hair and makeup was completely finished, we drove together to the Downtown Square in Tyler, Texas for their first look! It was so fun driving Madison around and just chatting with her about life and what’s to come!đŸ¥°
After I placed Garrett at their first look location, Madison and I walked over and got ready for the grand surprise! Garrett began getting a little nervous once Madison was standing quietly behind him! I will say, I may have shed a tear or two! When Garrett finally saw his beautiful bride, they embraced and shared a moment together.
During Madison & Garrett’s portraits, I used my Lizzie Hillard Posing Method! Rather than focusing on perfect poses, I encourage interaction and genuine connection. I love prompting my couples to interact with one another throughout their session. As a result, their photos will represent who they are as a couple and will reflect their love and connection.
We had so much fun exploring Tyler and even grabbing ice cream from Andy’s on the Downtown Square. They shared a cup of cookies and cream before leaving for their ceremony.
Once we arrived at The Wine Room at The Grove Kitchen + Gardens in Tyler, Texas, Madison wanted to do a first look with her parents. After sharing a sentimental time together, it was time for Madison & Garrett to exchange vows and get married!
The Wine Room was the perfect location for their ceremony; this unique event space is great for accommodating intimate private events and dinners. This space holds 18-24 people seated and 35 standing. With their exquisite glass windows, this room is lit by natural lighting while still staying cool in the midst of the Texas heat. If you’re looking to have a private elopement or small wedding like Madison & Garrett in East Texas, The Grove Kitchen + Gardens may be a great wedding venue for you! You can check out their private party event spaces here!
Madison & Garrett were surrounded by their closest family and friends. After exchanging rings and being pronounced as ‘Mr. and Mrs. Garcia’, Garrett said “Is this when I get to kiss her?”. (Aka the SWEETEST moment to me!) The two sealed their covenant with a kiss, then we walked into family portraits!
In order for their family portraits to go smoothly and quickly, I sent Madison a Family Shot List for her to complete before the wedding day. This list ensures that I capture each photo the couple is wanting with their family and friends.
Madison & Garrett’s intimate wedding day was breathtaking! I’m so thankful that I was able to be a part of the biggest day of their lives. From Madison’s inquiry to now, our friendship has grown, and I’m so excited to see where God takes them in the future!
For anyone overwhelmed with wedding planning or looking to tie the knot quickly with just a few family members and friends, an intimate wedding may be the perfect route for you!
