Anna and Alex chose the best time of the year to have their fall outdoor wedding! From the pampas grass to the newly built barn wedding venue, The Orchard helped bring to life their modern yet rustic wedding vision.

Needless to say, Anna had the most elegant details for her flatlay photos! I always encourage my brides to create a “details box” before the wedding day with all of their special keepsakes. This way I can document the most important things on your wedding day that matter the most to you. Some of my favorite items to include are both weddings rings and bands, handwritten vows or vow books, paper goods (wedding invitations, wedding announcements, etc), the bride and groom’s wedding attire, the bridal bouquet, jewelry, perfume, and any other unique heirlooms!!!
The Orchard, a brand new wedding venue in Mount Vernon, Texas, had a beautiful space for Anna and her bridal party to get ready in! Filled with natural lighting and a beautiful balcony that overlooks the vineyard outside, the bridal party drank mimosas, jammed to the best 2000s tunes, and finished their wedding up-dos with Tessa, a Wedding Hairstylist Specialist located in Longview, Texas.
Anna and her bridesmaids were dressed in a popular fall color paired with a minimal-styled bouquet of white roses! Although you can’t tell in the photos, this was the windiest day in East Texas! Both sides of the wedding party endured the 50mph wind speed and made it look easy! The groomsmen even enjoyed tossing Alex into the air during their photo time… maybe a little too much!
With it being so windy outside, Anna and I decided to escape inside to document her bridal portraits. This brick wall inside of the barn was flooded with natural light and really created an authentic feel that paired with Anna’s wedding day vision. We also took a few bridals on the grand staircase that completed Anna’s entire look. Her dress was bought at Say Yes Bridal in Rogers, Arkansas; what a statement!
The Frevilles decided to do a First Touch with each other before the ceremony instead of a First Look! For the more traditional couples, this is a great option if you want to hear each other’s voices before walking down the aisle without seeing one another. Anna and Alex gathered at the main barn door at The Orchard to exchange their private vows while holding hands. After Anna shared her heart touching vows with her soon-to-be husband, Alex opened his moment of vows with prayer. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t shed a tear or two! I love how intentional a first touch can be; spending time in prayer or intentional conversation with each other before walking down the aisle is a core memory waiting to be created.
Around 5 o’clock in the afternoon, Anna walked down the aisle to Alex with her Dad! Alex’s smile shows how excited he was to finally see her after they shared their private vows a few minutes before. In the presence of their family and friends, they exchanged rings and traditional vows. And of course, they sealed their covenant with a kiss! Freville Forever!
The Orchard Wedding Venue is super versatile when it comes to places for photo ops! After their wedding ceremony at sunset, we adventured off to the back of the vineyard for their wedding party photos!
I’d be lying if I said this wasn’t my favorite part of a wedding day; bride and groom portraits at a Texas wedding venue during golden hour! Ohhh yeah! I always encourage my couples to take this time to soak in the fact that they’re now husband and wife!!! As you can tell, Anna and Alex did not hesitate to do so! They celebrated as I documented their newlywed glow with my own Lizzie Hillard Posing Method! I customize each prompt to fit my couples and how they relationship feels! Through questionnaires and phone calls, this happens over time as we get to know each other and become friends!!!
Anna and Alex’s family and friends gathered in the barn to celebrate during their reception! I documented the sweetest first dance for the Frevilles along with their parent dances too! Soon after dinner, we escaped to cut the cake on the second level of the barn. Check out The Orchard’s chandelier! It’s a show-stopper for anyone who enters into the barn! As the bride and groom spoke with their guests, everyone else jumped onto the dance floor to bust some moves before their exit! The couple chose streamers and confetti poppers to lead the way as they left the venue in the mother of the groom’s decked out Jeep Wrangler getaway car!
Not only will I forever be obsessed with this Texas wedding day, Anna and Alex will always hold a special place in my heart! Intentional and authentic are the words that come to mind when I think of their wedding day and their love for each other. Thank you, friends, for letting me document your sweet day!!!!
